Email communications through Eventsquid are facilitated by the Sendgrid email service. The service is one the best in class and the Eventsquid reputation rating (as a email sender) averages 99% positive.
In the various email logs (Communication Center, Invitations, Email log under registrant details), you will see success and fail categories / labels.
For details on failed deliveries, Eventsquid makes the Sendgrid details available. Sometimes these are hard to decipher but almost always mean that there is an issue on the recipient end of the communication.
Error Classifications | Description | Examples / Likely Causes |
Bounces | The receiving server could not or would not accept the message. |
Email address not valid, the message is being blocked by the recipients email server (mostly company email security filters) or some other block between receiving email server and recipient's mailbox.
|
Drops | SendGrid will drop an email when the recipient email previously bounced, or that recipient has marked your email as spam. | |
Blocks | When your IP address has been blacklisted or blocked by an ISP or messaging organization. Blocks are less severe than bounces and do not result in permanent suppressions: subsequent sends to blocked email addresses are not automatically suppressed. | Company email security policies. |
Deferred | The recipient mail server asked SendGrid to stop sending emails so fast. | The system attempts to deliver several times. The end result would either be success or bounce. |
Resolution
Short of correcting a mistyped email address, most of these cases need to be addressed by the intended recipient or their company. Have the recipient check with their company IT department to ensure these emails aren't being suppressed.
