Set Up Your Eventsquid Organization and Event For QR Code Scanning
Establish or Reset your Authorization Code
In order to use the Eventsquid QR Check-In App, you and your staff will need to enter a code along with your event ID to activate the app.
- From your main Eventsquid dashboard, click the MANAGE ORGANIZATION tab
- On the lefthand menu, click CHECK-IN under EVENT SETTINGS
- Enter your code in the field to the right of "Check-In Authorization Code" and click Reset Code
- Your event ID is located to the left of your event name on your event dashboard
Event Level Configuration
For each event, you can customize the app behavior, which registration items appear in the app and other features.
- In your EVENT BUILDER, click the EVENT DAY tab atop the screen
- Click Configuration under Check-In App on the lefthand menu
Screen Advancement. For efficient operation, you can have the app automatically advance to scan the next attendee upon successful scan. The app will not advance if the scan fails (e.g., attendee not registered for the session where pre-registration is required, attempting to check-out attendee before they are checked-in, etc.). You can set the time for auto advance or turn auto advance off.
Check-In Options. For each registration item, you configure your options.
- Hide From Check-In App. Check this if you do not want the item to display in the Check-in App. Typically you will want to hide the items that you don't intend to record check-in, check-out or redemption information. Within the app, there is always "Event Level" check in, which records the check in time for the overall event.
- Scan to Register. Selecting this option allows the registration item to be ADDED to an attendee's registration. For example, if you don't require registrants to select their sessions at the time of registration and allow them to attend the session but need to record attendance. In the app, the scope will need to be set to the item and the mode needs to be set to CHECK-IN. Note that this will add the registration item to the attendees registration record whether or not there is a price or if the item belongs to the registration profile.
- Turn off Decrementing. For registration items that allow a quantity selection, you can have the app decrement or count down each time the QR code is scanned. Most items will have "Turn off Decrementing" checked by default because it is a special use case. For example, if you allow registrants to purchase "drink tickets", you can scan the attendee's QR code each time they visiting the drink station. The app will count down with each scan. If you have single quantity item, and you want the app to record "redeemed" instead of "checked in", you can uncheck "turn off decrementing".
