Eventsquid has an app specifically designed to allow your event attendees to scan other attendee's Eventsquid QR Code to gather their contact information. Typically this is used by exhibitors or vendors to gather contact information from event attendees who are interested in their products or services.
What is needed to use this service?
The Contact Scanning service and app is an optional feature within Eventsquid. If it was not included in your agreement with Eventsquid, simply contact us at support@eventsquid.com and we will get you set up!
What information is transferred once the Eventsquid QR code is scanned?
As an administrator, you decide which information is transferred on contact scan. All common contact fields are available.
Once the contact is scanned, the scanning party is able to add notes along with the contact.
How do we set it up?
Setup is very simple. In your EVENT BUILDER, you will activate contact scanning and create an access code. Select the attendee data element that get shared.
Here's how:
In the EVENT BUILDER, click the EVENT DAY tab atop the screen. Click Configuration under CONTACT SCANNING.
1. Click the switch to the right of "Activate contact scanning for this event" to turn it ON. You will be asked to create an "Attendee authorization code" - this is the code you will give to those who you want to give contact scanning access to (e.g., exhibitors, vendors, all attendees, etc). Set the code and click SAVE.
2. Under CONTACT DATA SHARING, check only those attendee data fields you want shared in the Contact Scanning process. Note that First Name, Last Name and email address will always be included. Click SAVE when done.
You may download the app and test it on QR codes you can access in the Event Details panel of any attendee.

How do attendees get the app?
Your attendees can download the scanning app from the Apple App Store or the Google Play Store. They will be prompted to enter both your event ID (xxxxxx) and the authorization code you provide in the Configuration area.
You can include this code in confirmation email for all or only specific attendee types or use the Communcations Center to notify those who you wish to have access.
