DESCRIPTION & KEYWORDS
The Description & Keywords tool in your Event Builder is an important step in creating a full event. Increase SEO and level up your event page's marketing instantly with the help of this utility.
EVENT DESCRIPTION
This is the main description that will appear front and center on your event homepage. This editor is not meant to handle embedded imagery, so stick to text here. If you leave this box blank, the description box on your event website will not appear.
At the bottom of this page in the Builder will allow you to enter certain keywords keywords that will improve SEO on Google.
REGISTRATION PANEL PROMO TEXT
This block of text appears directly above your registration button(s) on your event homepage; however, this block of text is only compatible with the Classic Web Template when you have Custom Profiles being used. Each Custom Profile is allowed to have a corresponding button (when using the Classic Template) on the event homepage if desired. Here is a step by step guide to activating this feature:
- Create a new event with 2 Custom Profiles
- Then, click to edit each profile
- In the PROFILE ITEMS tab, create an OPTIONAL REGISTRATION BUTTON name
- You can also pick a color for the button
- Now, enter the WEBSITE section of the Event Builder
- Click the DISPLAY OPTIONS tool on the left
- Click to use the CLASSIC layout
Finally, preview your website - you will see your custom profile buttons on the homepage after completing the steps listed above.
The Registration Panel Promo Text will appear within this box of custom registration buttons (right above the buttons).
With multiple pathways (profiles) through registration, it is often a helpful tactic to include instructional text within this panel.
KEYWORD & SUMMARY OPTIONS
Registrants and visitors to your registration site are able to save the event to their calendar. This is facilitated through the webpage (if you show the save to calendar link) or through emails from the system.
By default, the calendar entry for an event will use the NAME of the event for the name of the calendar entry. Also by default, the description of the calendar entry will be BLANK
If you want to add a description to the calendar entry, you can add that in the Event Builder under Event Basics > Description & Keywords. Scroll down to the KEYWORD & SUMMARY OPTIONS sections and enter the description in the Summary field.
